Why do we do research? The quality of our care is determined by the outcomes of our patients. Our care is based on solid evidence-based medicine (EBM).  Our Providers are dedicated to staying up to date on the research and studies that are available. Your participation in our surveys are an ongoing process of improvement and help to demonstrate the outcomes of treatment for future review.

You may occasional see new faces in the clinic. We are a facility that believes in the quality and improvement of health care. Part of that is giving back to the profession, teaching and nurturing other nurse practitioners and medical professionals. We collaborate with colleges and universities as preceptors to foster the learning experiences of other health professionals.

Thyroid Survey 2017

RESULTS: A final analysis was done on a population of 192 patients. The QOL scores revealed that the average score before starting any thyroid replacement was 4.375. After three months of treatment the average QOL was reported at 8.74.

Thyroid Survey 2018

In our 2018 Thyroid Survey which was completed 10/1/2018, we had similar results with a smaller group of patients.

RESULTS: A final analysis was done on a population of 74 patients. The Quality of Life (QOL) scores revealed that the average score before starting any thyroid replacement was 3.74. After three months of treatment the average QOL was reported at 8.82. The incidence of adverse reactions was minimal.

Hormone Survey

We performed a survey of hormone patients N=72, to look at the improvement of symptoms after being on hormone replacement. The population was mixed with 78% female and 22% males. Overall QOL was reported to have improved in the population with an average of 7.92. The Survey found that 85%+/- 5 reported improvement of QOL symptoms including libido, mood, memory, insomnia, tension, migraines/headaches, ability to climax, improvement in menstrual cycles, breast tenderness, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, strength and erection .  This was a subjective retrospective survey and is limited without pre-treatment survey scores, therefore the baseline was not established.

Currently, approval is pending with clinicaltrials.gov for a 2019 thyroid study entitled:

“Treating the Patient, Not the Number”(TPNN). A Review of the Efficacy of Thyrotropic Hormone in Diagnosis of Patients Suffering from Symptoms of Hypothyroidism.
