Accessibility to healthcare and keeping cost down is a primary goal.  Telemedicine enables us to interact with you. Approximately 20% of the United States population resides in rural areas, and only 9% of physicians serve these areas. Telehealth aims to eliminate transportation costs, which often burden patients of low socioeconomic status. We currently offer telemedicine to our established patients. Once we have established a patient-provider relationship, you are eligible to schedule and be seen online for follow-up visits. However, we do require occasional office visits to maintain this status. We believe that the Clinician-Patient relationship is essential.

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) supports expanded use of telemedicine as an appropriate and efficient means of improving health, when conducted in a manner supportive of longitudinal care and within the context of appropriate standards of care.

When telemedicine supports care coordination and effective communication with and among a patient’s primary care physicians and medical home, it can mitigate many of our nation’s significant health care challenges, including fragmentation of medical care, disparities in access to health care, workforce shortages and misallocation of resources, such as specialists, in underserved or geographically remote locations. It supports an integrated systems approach that focuses on:

Telemedicine may benefit a practice or organization by improving patient triage and clinical outcomes. For patients, using telemedicine may reduce the burden of travel to access care, enhance timely delivery of health care services, increase compliance with treatment plans, improve communication with health care practitioners and lower the cost of care.

We offer telemed visits to existing clients only. Once you are an established patient, you will have the option to get certain refills by telemed. However, periodic in-person office visits are required.
